Strawberry Letter 23

Perhaps the greatest soul song ever written was originally done by Shuggie Otis, but perfected by The Brothers Johnson. It made American pop culture through Tarantino's Jackie Brown film and in doing so, respect for a soundtrack first brought to my attention by my friend Neenan. Wow that was horrible grammar, but LISTEN TO THE SONG AND MAYBE YOU'LL UNDERSTAND .

Unfortunately, the hook to the song was bit, as so many great ones are, by the 90s one-hit-wonder Color Me Bad. I love the original song, but sometimes after I listen to it I have "I wanna sex you up" stuck in my head.
